International WASH training course 2012


MSABI in collaboration with Engineers Without Borders UK and the Tanzania Training Centre for International Health organized and conducted an International training course on Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH). Public health and engineering aspects of a WASH program were covered by the course.The training course was conducted in Ifakara from 4th to 18th of August 2012 .

Training session

The training course content comprised of Technologies  for safe water supply and sanitation in developing countries; Market based approaches; Innovative approaches for WASH; Health and engineering research to promote progressive approaches; Efficiency and sustainability of WASH interventions; Policy and advocacy.

Course facilitators : Eng. Dale Young, Founding Director MSABI Dr. Jeroen Ensink, Lecturer London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine; Ms. Vivienne Abbott, iWASH Director, GLOWS Tanzania; Eng. Herbert Kashililah, Technical Advisor WateriAid Tanzania; Dr. Niklaus Holbro, Program Manager and Scientific Advisor MSABI/ Swiss TPH.

The course involved participants from UK  and those from  East Africa. The participants were exposed to both theoretical and practical experience. A new course is planned for summer 2013.
