Signal, Kilombero District - Geohm Survey

In areas with potential subsurface rock presence we perform tests to measure earth resistance using Geohm equipment.  Results inform us of the likelihood of hitting hard rock, which we cannot drill through and also finding good aquifers.  Its not a definitive answer but helps.

Current water point, one of two with users waiting to collect.  Currently they use a bucket on a stick to reach down to withdraw water.

The Geohm averages earth resistance to a certain depth, and averages over a given length therefore it can not accurately predict strata/boulders.

Maurus (Field Manager) recording results.

The survey concluded that drilling is likely to encounter rock, with topography and ground features also
suggesting this.  However, resistance levels were not enough to suggest attempts would not be worthwhile.
