I had the opportunity to represent MSABI at the 6th RWSN conference in Kampala. The conference brought together around 500 participants in the water sector from all over the world both in government departments, donor agencies, and Non Governemental organisations for 3 days to the beautiful Commonwealth Speke resort on the lake shore of lake Victoria.

The conference sought to address the myths that have surrounded the rural supply sector and provide a forum where people can share experiences as to how they solved the same or different problems in their countries.
From plenary sessions to smaller parallel sessions, speaker after speaker highlighted the importance of tapping into the potential that communities have in terms of contributing to the capital costs of their water points, focus more on ensuring and working out the sustainability issues of the infrastructure put in place AND most importantly the continued provision of the services to the masses from infrastructure put in place.
