Ruaha safari highlights

On the way back from Njombe I got off the bus at Iringa to meet some friends. For the Easter break we travelled to Ruaha NP. The park is known for its lions, and we weren’t disappointed! On our first afternoon we came across a fresh kill. A pride had just taken down a giraffe!!! We were very very lucky and spent the next 2 days watching the spectacular – 3 cubs, 2 females and 1 giant male lion taking turns to eat their prize. Even better was that on both mornings we had the viewing to ourselves for over an hour. The short safari was a nice break away from swelter of our home at Ifakara.
